Aguero reveals his all time favorite player in England
Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is closing in on the Top 20 goalscorers in Premier League history.
The Argentine has scored 107 goals in England's top flight and requires just two more to move past Manchester United hero Ryan Giggs,
Aguero moves closer to another scoring milestone, the former Atletico Madrid star told City's official website that his personal favourite in the top scoring bracket of the Premier League is not necessarily everybody else's pick.
"There are some great names in the Premier League top 20, but without a doubt, for his goal tally and lead over everybody else, Alan Shearer deserves to be on the podium," he said.
"That said, there are a number of other players I admire. I'd say it's a matter of taste or playing style because the Premier League has hosted many of the greats – and still does: Michael Owen, Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry to name just a few.
"But as my personal favourite, I'd like to choose Frank Lampard, who in spite of not being necessarily a striker, stands among the top 10 goal-scorers. That deserves praise.
"I had the chance to play alongside him and it was a valuable experience. He's every inch a professional and a man you can respect."
New York City FC's Lampard scored a total of 177 league goals during his glittering career in England, which included 147 for Chelsea, 24 for West Ham United and six for City.
